Recipes for Wipes Solutions

Using cloth wipes is a great way to save money, and is a natural and safe way to clean your babies bottom.

There are good reasons for why certain ingredients used in home made wipes soultions. Here is why:

Oil: Helps the wipe glide across baby's skin and keeps skin soft

Soap: Cleans by removing all traces of waste

Essential Oils: Known as EO. Used for antibacterial and aromatherapy purposes.

Water: The main ingredient in each recipe, cleanses the diaper area and dilutes the other ingredients

There are many different solutions out there with which you can play around with until you find something that suits you and your baby. Here are some suggestions for easy wipes solution recipes:

Plain Water
You can simply use plain water. Either put in a spray bottle and we tthe wipes as you go, or fill an old luncbox or wipes container with water and soak your cloth wipes in it.

Vinegar Water
1 tablespoon of white vinegar
1-2 drops of tee tree/lavender oil
1 cup of water. (Do not use on a baby who has red nappy rash as the vinegar will sting)

Bi Carb Water
2 tablespoons of bicarb soda 1-2 drops of tee tree/lavender oil 1 cup water

Chamomile Tea Solution

Use a bottle with a pull-up spout (like on bottled-water bottles) to dribble solution onto the wipes.

Warm your chosen solution and place in an insulated container to provide warm wipes for baby.

Place the solution into a commercial baby wipes container or an old lunchbox and dip wipes into the solution.

Place the solution into a commercial baby wipes container or an old lunchbox and soak the wipes in the solution.
